The Blue Aces
Talking About My Baby
The Blue Aces was a teriffic band Ron was with. They were an Irish Show Band that moved to London circa 1964 and Ron joined them to play guitar, sing and write songs. Here are four selections from their extensive repitoire. That's Alright, penned by Ron, sounds a bit like Max Frost and the Troopers - Nothing Can Change the Shape of Things to Come and there is a bit of the DC5's I need Love in it as well. All I Want, also penned by Ron is a nice ballad on which he shares the lead vocals with Keith Field. The Blue Aces were a talented, good group. Ron was vocalist and guitarist, Charlie Cheevers was on sax, Ron Carthy was trumpet, Mike Gallager drummer, and Keith Field guitarist and vocals.
